First timer there with my wife, Friends mentioned this place, with gestures,, u know on the corner of Las Tunas & Temple City Blvd.. by the so & so shop, across the street from so &so.. ok, ok , well.... 1.wasn't that difficult to find since I live in Arcadia, 2. I drive by this place almost every other day, and the sign says Cocktails, pool, etc.. as I relayed back to my friends, I asked, are u sure they have food there??? They replied with, Yes, they do!!
Ok so this past weekend, my wifey and I decided to go, and it totally is a transformation, as one walks in through the door, it's like being IMO at the old Dresden in Hollywood, ( if anyone reading this use to go there), can't tell what's on the other side of the door! Lol!!
So we walk in, I'm geared up to the T with my dodger gear on, because we just had watched the game elsewhere, and told my wife, let's go to 38 degrees, in Monrovia, that's my family's GO TO PLACE, but then the lightbulb hit, I said let's try Crest. As we walked in we got stared, but not in a bad way, just instinctively one turns and sees who came in a bar.. but maybe because we're Latin,, I don't know and I don't care either...
My kids are high schoolers 9th & 11th graders so they couldn't come. That's fine, alone time with the wife, besides all I did was order them a pizza and boom!!! Happy Girls!
We approached the bar and asked if they had menus, yeah yeah, first timers!!.,, I wasn't sure what to expect, I believe the lady's name at the bar, is Barbara, ( very sweet), she said we have our menu, written on the board ,,I said OK fine, we will have two steak dinners, at $9.49 you can't beat that but the taste is in the pudding, so we trotted to find an open table, while waiting ,we got a couple of margaritas, at least 16 ounce , and they were delicious!!!!!
Cool service, people were very nice, and just a happy all around atmosphere,, finally our steak dinners arrive at our table, they were perfectly cook to what we wanted, and we were full, we couldn't be HAPPIER WITH EVERYTHING!!!!
Barbara then mentioned the burgers for next time, $5.10 Huge Cheeseburger, Bag 0 chips and a salad!! Wow!!
That's awesome!!! And to think, I could have spent 3 times more at 38 degrees.
We will definitely be back this coming weekend!!!!!
Thank u Crest and staff for making it a pleasurable experience, after all, life is an experience!
( do you all show the Dodgers games?) -

This little hidden gem of a place was amazing! The food was as great if not better than was expected, especially for the price! Mike our server and later told us he was the cook actually took the time to explain the menu and the secret menu and insisted we tried the steak before adding sauce to it because it would offend the cook, hint hint, he was hilarious and knowledgeable and took the time to make conversation with us as if we were having lunch with friends. The Bar Keep Mariano or Marziano, was super friendly too. He even cut up a watermelon in slices and offered it to every guest out of nowhere.

Easy 3.5 stars.
Going through the nondescript front door of the Crest Lounge is like entering a time machine. All of a sudden you're somewhere in Kentucky or Ohio in the late 1960s and it's not just the décor, but the people sitting at the bar, who look like members of a generation that refuses to die (they're also overwhelmingly "Caucasian"). This is a part of Temple City that hasn't given up resisting the big demographic changes in the area and it's a holdout from older days.
That said, everybody's pretty cool, especially the waitresses and Adam, whom I believe is the cook. He came to our table various times to check on us & even sat & chatted for a minute. Nice guy. Then there's the food, at ridiculously low prices. You get a steak dinner with salad and baked potato for $9.49 as of this writing. The steak is generous and was cooked just right as was the baked potato, and the salad greens were crisp and fresh. Drinks are generous and cheap, too, making this joint a winner all around.
The pool table is free and this is a big Dodgers fan hangout so it doesn't get much better than a tasty steak dinner and drinks at prices that won't render the pocketbook unconscious (oh, and cash only, btw) while you watch the ball game. They also have burgers (for less than six bucks) that look good. Don't let the "time machine" vibe dissuade you from checking this place out. -

I gave this establishment 4 stars because it's a little ways away from me. Otherwise, the food (burgers and steaks) are really good. Made to order. The drinks are also very good and well-priced. It's not fancy but it's a sports bar...
